Biblical Usage

Jesus taught that no man can serve two masters and declared that a person cannot serve God and mammon.

He warned His hearers against making riches their master and taught them to lay up treasures in heaven rather than on earth.

In the parable of the unjust steward, Jesus also spoke of the use of the mammon of unrighteousness.
