Meaning
En-rogel is a spring near Jerusalem that marked a boundary between the territories of Judah and Benjamin.
Biblical Usage
En-rogel appears in the descriptions of the boundaries of Judah and Benjamin. During Absalom’s rebellion, Jonathan and Ahimaaz stay there while receiving information to pass to David.
The place is also mentioned in the account of Adonijah’s attempt to establish himself as king, when he holds a gathering near the stone of Zoheleth. The name is often interpreted as “spring of the fuller,” but its meaning and the identification of the site remain disputed. <Cite refs={[“turn894370search2”,“turn894370search3”]}/>
