Spiritual life requires continual dependence upon God rather than independence from Him.
Scripture
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Truth
Believers must continually depend upon God because spiritual life and fruitfulness cannot be sustained apart from Him.

- Spiritual dependence upon God is not limited to times of trouble.

- Do not wait for a crisis before seeking God.
- Acknowledge your dependence upon God in your decisions, work, and daily life.
- Remain close to Christ rather than trying to live the Christian life independently of Him.
